Sanderson eventually settle on Words of Radiance. The book was originally going to be called Highprince of War (referring to Highprince Dalinar), then the author, deciding to instead revolve the book around Shallan, wanted to call it Book of Endless Pages when the Editor told him that wouldn't be a good idea for a 1000+ novel.
The Author announced the second book would be released in 2012, two years after the first book due to him trying to finish the final Wheel of Time book, however the book didn't end up being released until March 4, 2014. 7 on The New York Times Best Seller list. In its first week of release, The Way of Kings was No. The First book was released in 2010, Tor Books published sample chapters from The Way of Kings on its official website, along with an introduction by Sanderson. The original book came to be known as The Way of Kings Prime and can be found on the authors website. Sanderson finished his first draft of the Way of Kings in 2003, however he relized he told the story wrong, scratched the whole thing and started over.
